HSDC is a non-profit organization established in 1993. It was formed by a concerned group of women who observed a gap in the integration services available to new immigrant communities. HSDC assists families in building stronger foundations through integrative and empowerment programs and services. For the past 20 years, we have been dedicated to serving the disadvantaged, at-risk and low-income, visible minority individuals and their families.

Job Description:

Marketing and Communications Assistant

Marketing and promotion of the organizational activities by:

  • Design advertisements for events, programs and recurring activities
  • Perform internet based marketing activities

Contribute to the management of all Social Media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), including the posting of daily updates as well as sharing content during sponsored events.

Marketing and Sales Assistant

  • Assist the Manager to carry out the organization’s strategic plan.
  • Contribute to the management of all Social Media accounts (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.), including the posting of updates as well as sharing content during sponsored events.
  • Assist with creating marketing campaigns.
  • Assisting with distribution of marketing materials to increase business awareness.
  • Assist with setting up at events in the city to promote company.
  • Market products and services /Follow up on leads.
  • Utilizing social media, online marketing and internet groups to market company’s products.
  • Perform in-person and internet based marketing activities.
  • Communication with potential customers and sponsors.

Social Media Coordinator Assistant

    • Frequently updates Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc accounts.
    • Responds to posts or comments from clients.
    • Posts update news and announcements in a timely manner using appropriate content.
    • Performs research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our client base and posts it to HSDC’s social networks in a manner that invites conversation and interaction.
    • Updates social media accounts with current and relevant photos, videos, or other content from activities and events.
    • Grows online social networks by increasing client-base and interactions.
    • Maintains current information on all social media networks.
    • Completes other social media projects as assigned.
    • Create editorial calendars and different program schedules.
    • Conducts digital marketing for the organization
    • Helps to increase overall online presence of the organization.


Marketing and Communications Assistant

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience within this field.
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Photoshop or any other software for designing flyers is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, planning and time management skills with high attention to detail.

Marketing and Sales Assistant

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with great time management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Social Media Skills is required.
  • A passion for marketing and sales.
